Trey's Imagination - Chapter 12

As Sandy was about to enter the driver’s side of her car, a person lunged from behind another car and began to verbally attack Sandy. Trey rushed around to the other side of the car, but he was too slow because, by then, Sandy was leaning against the car gasping for air.

“Stay away from my fiancé! You were the reason he wouldn’t answer the phone last night,” shouted Flora.

After Trey pulled Flora away from Sandy, who was an asthmatic, Sandy searched nervously in her purse for her inhaler and car keys. She was shaking as she got inside her car, inhaled from her pipe, and finally talked herself through starting the car and putting it in reverse to escape the madness of the moment.

Trey waved for her to drive on, and she sped off. He dragged Flora with a bear grip by her shoulders to his own car, and once he had gotten her inside, he went and got in the driver’s seat. They both sat there breathing like wild animals, trying to catch their breaths. Trey sat there and tried to imagine being in a relationship with a sane person.
