Visiting Tyre -Chapter 19

 “Let’s work over here for a while.” Tyre picked up some papers, and suddenly, he was very still. He stared down, and Phoenix saw his face turn into a chilly form.

Phoenix did not say anything but waited to see what had brought on the transformation. He said in a low voice, “This is Flora.” He handed her a photograph. She took the picture and studied the face of his former wife. “She was very attractive,” she said without hesitation. Phoenix noticed a detached look in Flora’s eyes as if she was looking at something faraway.

“Yes. She was attractive, but I should have looked a little deeper. But bless her. She is in a better place,” he said in a low voice.

She waited because she felt that more was coming. “Sometimes you think that you have told the story and more comes out later,” he said.

“Yes, I can understand that. There are so many sides to life, but I truly believe that people come into lives by divine appointment. Surely, she came to teach you something. Plus, it could not have been all bad, Tyre,” she said as if she was the teacher here.
