Trey's Life- Chapter 24
The thought of companionship crept briefly into Trey's mind, but he quickly washed it out as he cleaned the bathtub. He felt that a bath instead of a shower would help him make friends with water and embrace the idea of wholeness.
This tub was not as lavishly built as the one in his former apartment. After Flora’s overdose, he had moved to work on regenerating his own life. He added bath salts and bubble bath to increase the invitation to a holy wash. He would appeal to the gods and ask for repentance and instruction.
Trey eased into the tub, relaxed, and closed his eyes. First, he thought, Tyre, my real name, means “rock.” Dad says by using my nickname of Trey, I am not living to my true potential because I am not calling forth the true idea meant for me. He said I need to be steady like a rock and that Tyre was an ancient island known for its artistic craftsmanship and shipbuilding. There were traders of purple dyes. Purple means power in itself. Tyre means rock. “I want to be strong and as steady as a rock. I want to exude power,” he spoke aloud.
“Tyre. Humph,” he tried out his given name. Silence. “Lord, I am ready for my good. I want a good woman in my life. No, I want a wife. I want someone that will be here for me every day, day in and day out. I want her to have a career of her own though, Lord. I want her to have her own goals in life. Perhaps we can help each other realize each other's dreams."
