Peaceful Coexistence - Chapter 12

Phoenix had everything brewing in the kitchen, so she went out in the backyard to check on her garden. She saw a few small bulbs coming up and though this was her first venture she knew that she was making progress.

Eventually, she looked up and saw Tyre standing over her beaming and looking like a new man who resembled the handsome man she married. She did not say a word. She just smiled and he said, “You want to explain these markings and plots of land?”

She explained what she had planted, her research and the advice she had received from the farmer that she’d met that day. “So proud of you, Phoenix. You never cease to amaze me!” he said in sincerity. “Thanks, honey,” she replied.

They then paused when they heard a wee voice saying, “Hi! My name is Jay.” They looked at each other and just started laughing. Their minds immediately went to their time spent with Leah.

"Well, Jay, I am Miss Phoenix and this is Mr. Tyre. That is the way we do it in the South,” she laughed.

“The South? What is the South,” Jay wanted to know. “You will understand a little more when I show you on the map,” his father said as he picked him up and tossed him in the air. Jay giggled.
