Chapter 1 - Time

It was time for Leah to meet her younger sister Rachel- child of Papa Tyre and Auntie Phoenix. It was time to fill in the spaces and start the building of the totem pole in both girls’ lives. At the prompting and with the assistance of her parents, Leah had written the following letter:

Dear Little Rachel: I am your big sister. I live in California. Now, I have two younger sisters. You and Asha. I am coming to your house in Massachusetts soon. That is a big word and I had to use by dictionary to spell it, but so is California. 

I am learning about the states in school. I must fly all the way across the country to get there. I will see you soon. I am bringing you some California sand.

Phoenix stood there with wet eyes after she read the letter for a second time. She continually prayed that this would go well. It was time for the girls to meet, and she started jotting things down that she wanted to say to Rachel when she got home from school. Again, it was time for the girls to meet.
