Chapter 11 - Elisha's Steady Hand

Leah followed Tyre to his office. He purposely left the door open and told her to have a seat. She sat in one of the chairs and looked around the room observing his things. He did not want to hold her in suspense so he dove in and said, “Saturday will be our day. I have been working so hard and I realized that it is almost time for you to go back home. How would you like to go to my Ceramics class with me on Saturday morning? Just you and me,” he added.

“Oh, Papa Tyre. I would love that! I saw the tea set you made for Auntie Phoenix. Oh, yes,” she repeated.

“Great!” he said as he let out a sigh of relief. “It’s all arranged. Then, we will have lunch, and I will take you up on campus so that you can see where I work. Okay, Leah?”

“Yes, Papa Tyre,” she said with a wide smile.

“And Leah. I noticed that you keep a writing pad with you. I like that. I want you to think of any questions that you have for me and write them down. I want us to get to know each other better. But not too many questions. Okay?” he smiled with dimple in view. She walked over and touched it lightly and revealed hers, just as she had done some years ago.
