“Talk to Auntie Phoenix or better still, call Granny Septima. I bet she will have a lot to say,” Leah laughed.

“I think I will. I will call Granny Septima rather than talk to Ma.” She felt lighter after voicing the words.

“And journal. Get it all out so you can concentrate on your studies, Rachel. I tell Asha the same thing. She is up at UC-Berkeley, and I try to help her stay on the straight and narrow until Mr. Right comes along. And like I told her, even if he never shows up, you still need to enjoy your life. I got lucky meeting Lincoln so early, but everyone’s life is different.”
