Oakland Reunion - Chapter 12

As the famous California rolling hills came into view, Tyre was reminded of Maze’s old song, Look at California. He was more familiar with Southern California where Deja and David still lived down in Orange County.

He was mesmerized by the hilly terrain and even noticed how some houses were situated so high on the hills that it seemed as if they needed a helicopter to get home. While taking in the views, he felt some eyes on him. He looked over and saw that baby Jason was studying him with a level of intensity that he could not ignore. Though he was sucking on his pacifier, he still had old wise eyes like he had been here before. Perhaps, quite recently.

He said, “Hey little man. Are you trying to tell me something?” Leah looked back and laughed. “I think he has been here before, Papa Tyre.”

“That is just what I was thinking,” responded Tyre. “Leah, you always did have a knack for picking up on people’s feelings and even their thoughts.”

“Amen to that,” added her husband, Lincoln. “And please don’t get caught red handed with the wrong thoughts."
