Buckingham Foutain # 16
As I sit here staring at the Buckingham Fountain, I was reminded of walking in the Garden of Tuileries in Paris, France. There was also a fountain towards the end of the walk, and the fountain reminded me of that spring trip in 1996.
Looking at the Buckingham Foutain also reminded me of freedom. I felt and feel free. When I look to the east, I see Lake Michigan. It is a display of God in all of His glory. And when I look to the west, I see skyscrapers. Man and all of his competitive sport, The fountain is not on, but it’s great to be out in the wide, blue yonder. Oh, to breathe God’s air is so divine!
Looking at the dry structure of the Fountain, you try to imagine how anyone could build such a magnificent structure. It was a gift to Chicago from Kate Buckingham in memory of her brother Clarence. What a mighty gesture of love! It just reminded me that my concerns are miniscule and bigger and grander things are being accomplished every day in so many ways. (2/22/2000)
